Devani arrested in UK over Sh7.6billion Triton scam

Businessman Yagnesh Devani, who is wanted in Kenya over Sh7.6billion Triton Petroleum Oil scam, has been arrested in UK.
Devani, who has been on the run, was arrested on Thursday following a request by the Kenyan Government.
Devani is remanded in custody by the District Judge at the City of Westminster Court.
The court is expected to fix a date for extradition hearing.

The British High Commission Head of Communication, Mr John Bradshaw confirmed the events to The Standard but could not give further details on the case before the court.
"We confirm Devani was arrested this morning in UK, London. I do not have a lot of details but the moment we get them we will relay it to you. The arrest was in relation to a request of extradition from Kenya Government," said Bradshaw.
