Mututho defends Ruto
By Patrick Beja
Naivasha MP John Mututho has commended Higher Education minister William Ruto for refusing to resign over Sh96 million fraud case.
Mututho claimed Ruto's woes were politically instigated and urged him to soldier on.
Mututho claimed the cash raised through sale of some plots was used for Kanu campaigns and Ruto alone should not be sacrificed for it.
“Ruto should be left alone to discharge his ministerial duties because he has performed at his previous Agriculture ministry,” Mututho said in Mombasa on Sunday.

He claimed Ruto was being persecuted for actions of others so as to block his bid for presidency in 2012.
Speaking at Serena Beach Hotel, Mututho claimed a political union of Ruto and Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta could deliver the presidency and that was why there was an attempt to dent his political career.
Asking Ruto not to quit his ministerial docket, Mututho argued that the disputed plot was still there and that the minister should not be sacrificed for it.
Mututho rooted for the return of Ruto at the Agriculture docket saying he performed well before being transferred to the Higher Education ministry.
The minister, who faces a Sh96million fraud case, has since declared that he would not resign following a Constitutional Court ruling that he should be tried.
On agriculture, Mututho accused sugar factories of frustrating sugar farmers.
