Former Kenya Hockey Union Men's Premier League champions Butali Warriors maintained their unbeaten run as they returned to the top of the standings.

Warriors had a successful weekend, bagging six crucial points from their 6-1 and 4-2 victories against KCA University and Strathmore University Gladiators respectively.

The wins spurred them to the top of the table with 15 points from five rounds of matches. Warriors, who are on a mission to recapture the title they lost to Western Jaguars last season, now enjoy a five-point lead and are the only side that remains unbeaten.

They have been lethal at the opponents' goal and have so far scored 22 goals and conceded six.

Against the Gladiators, Moses Ademba, Francis Kariuki, George Mutira and Festus Onyango scored one goal apiece. Amos Kalui and Paul Odera were on target for Strathmore who suffered their fifth defeat.

United States International University of Africa (USIU-A) dropped to second-place with 10 points from five outings, the same as third-placed Wazalendo Hockey Club. The two sides were not in action at the weekend.

Nairobi Sikh Union, who lost 1-0 to top tier newbies Daikyo Heroes, are fourth with nine points from three wins and two losses, while Kenya Police are fifth with seven points.

The law enforcers have won two, drawn one and lost two. Parklands Sports Club are sixth with six points, two more than defending champions Western Jaguars who are currently seventh.

Daikyo are eighth tied on three points with Strathmore while KCA University, who are winless, are at the bottom with no point.

There were no major changes on the Women's Premier League table with holders Blazers Hockey Club maintaining their top spot with 10 points from four encounters.
