Coast leaders endorse CS Joho for presidency in 2032

Coastal leaders have endorsed Mining, Fisheries, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs CS Hassan Joho for the 2032 presidency.
Speaking in Rabai Sub-County, Kilifi County, the leaders who had accompanied the CS on a development tour of the area said that Joho had the political goodwill and financial muscle to mount a competitive presidential campaign.
They were led by Rabai MP Kenga Mupe, his counterparts Badi Twalib of Jomvu, Rashid Benzimba of Kisauni, Mishi Mboko of Likoni, and Mombasa County Assembly Speaker Ahurub Khatri.
"In 2032, we will back Joho for the presidency, and we will do everything possible to ensure that he takes over from President William Ruto," said Mupe.
His sentiments were echoed by Benzimba, who said that each region was strategising on how to take power in 2032 and that the coastal region had confidence in Joho.

"Every region is positioning itself for the big seat, and we must not be left behind. Going forward, we must talk in one voice," he said.
Mboko said that Joho has mentored many budding politicians in the region, and he was the best placed to lead the region to political power in the future.
"We thank Joho for pulling for the political unity of the coastal region and we can see his efforts hence we must all walk in his path," she said.
Twalib said that the time of blindly following leaders from outside the region was over, adding that those who fail to heed the call for unity will be left behind.
"Joho has demonstrated that he is not tribal, and he is uniting leaders from this area so that we can forge a united political front," he said.
Khatri urged parents to take their children to school so that the region can be respected for nurturing future professionals and leaders.
"We have been insulted by other leaders that we are illiterate, but I want to urge parents to take their children to school so that we can have professional leaders in the future," said Khatri.
Joho said that he has ambitions to be the future president of Kenya and urged residents of the coastal region to support his journey.
"President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have brought the country together, and they are preparing a level playing field so that people like me can run for presidency in the future," he said.
