Kenya Police Bullets kicked off their 2023-2024 FKF Women's Premier League season on the front foot after thrashing Bungoma Queens 5-2 in a seven goal thriller match at Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday.

Puren Alukwe scored a hat trick to lead Police to victory with Winnie Gwatenda and Lucy Kwekwe sealing the win.

Alukwe gave Police the lead inside the opening second minute before Bungoma got an equalizer swiftly following an own goal.

Alukwe restored the host's advantage before Gwatenda stretched Bullets lead to 3-1 heading to halftime break.

The second half witnessed Bullets score two more goals from Kwekwe and Alukwe who completed her hat trick. Bungoma managed to get another goal through Eunice Alivitsa as the match ended 5-2.

In the early kick off match, Ulinzi Starlets picked their first three points after beating Wadadia 3-0. Goals from Lucy Nato, Neddy Akoth and Lavender Akinyi were the difference.

In Ruiru, Nakuru City Queens earned a 2-1 win against hosts Zetech Sparks. Zetech took the lead in the 41st through Sherril Chaviha from a Beverline Adika assist. First half ended 1-0 in favor of the home team.

Second half however witnessed Nakuru City Queens make a comeback with their breakthrough coming in the 61st minute by a Wanjala Lenah goal and swiftly 3 minutes after, Wafula Merceline stretched the visitors lead.
