Manchester United are facing a battle in their bid to land Borussia Dortmund superstar Jadon Sancho - with Chelsea reportedly weighing up a £100million bid for the England flier.

Sancho has established himself as one of Europe's hottest properties with his form in the Bundesliga after leaving Manchester City for the German giants.

The 19-year-old is widely tipped to return to England next summer and is thought to be top of the Red Devils' shopping list.

But Chelsea - who learned the news earlier this week they are free to sign players in January - could blow them out of the water with a club-record bid, report the Daily Mail.

Liverpool has also shown interest in Sancho, but a move to Stamford Bridge could tempt the teenager who grew up as a Chelsea fan in south London.

Chelsea will also reportedly target another center-forward despite the impressive rise of Tammy Abraham, with RB Leipzig frontman Timo Werner in their sights

Sancho remains close friends with England teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi and the duo could be the poster boys at the Bridge for the foreseeable future should Sancho make the switch.

Ben Chilwell is another player on the Blues' radar but Leicester are reluctant to sell the left-back and Chelsea would also face competition from Manchester City for his signature.

A move for Sancho would be much more plausible if Chelsea retain their place in the Champions League.

Defeat at Everton leaves Frank Lampard's side five points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United , after the Red Devils catapulted themselves back into the race for a spot at Europe's top table with back-to-back victories over Tottenham and Manchester City.
