Paul Gascoigne has challenged Snoop Dogg to a charity boxing match after his comments regarding alcohol abuse.

The England footballer and American rapper have become embroiled in a bizarre online feud after Snoop Dogg targeted Gascoigne in a post comparing alcohol and drug abuse.

He posted pictures of Gascoigne with the caption "alcohol abuse" which the former Tottenham and Rangers star says were "bang out of order".

In the same post, the 47-year-old posted two snaps of himself, also taken 27 years apart, in an effort to compare what he called 'alcohol abuse' to 'marijuana abuse'.

It led to Gascoigne branding him an "ugly t***" in an immediate social media response and posting a hilarious video mocking the rap icon.

He has now challenged him to get inside the ring in a battle of "cannabis vs booze" to settle their disagreement.

Speaking about the situation on ITV's Good Morning Britain, Gascoigne said:: “Sometimes I expect it from the English press, but to come from Snoop Dogg…

"I’m a fan of his as well, I cannot believe it. I tell you what I’ll do, I’ll do a charity boxing match with him, cannabis versus booze, bring it on!

“For him to do that is really bang out of order and I was upset at the time. I try to look at the funny side of it, but there wasn’t really much of a funny side to that to be fair.

“I thought, why me? I remember watching him ages ago and became a fan. He must do [know who I am]. I was shocked.”

Gascoigne was enjoying a holiday in Benidorm when the post emerged, with Snoop Dogg coming in for plenty of criticism online.

He has experienced well-documented issues with alcoholism but turned back the years earlier in 2019 by playing for Spurs Legends at their new stadium on an emotional occasion.
