Gor Mahia’s assistant coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno has decided to resign just two years into his stay at the club.

The former Harambee Stars defender and tactician presented his resignation letter to the club management on Friday.

In a statement posted on the club’s website, the club Chairman Ambrose Rachier accepted his submission and wished him well in his new assignments.

“We have accepted Zico’s resignation and thank him for his dedicated service. We wish him well in his future endeavours, it has been a pleasure working with Zico, and on behalf of the team, we would like to wish him the very best in all his future endeavours”, said Rachier.

This comes after he worked under head coach Hassan Oktay to guide K’Ogalo to a third consecutive Kenya Premier League triumph.

Otieno, aka Zico moved to Gor in February 2017 under Brazilian tactician Jose Ze Maria Ferreira who was in charge of the green army at the time.

The experienced tactician has been linked with a move to Gor’s KPL rivals KCB.
