Upper Hill, Dagoretti in finals

Upper Hill will take on Dagoretti High School in Nairobi region secondary school games boys' rugby 15s finals at St Mary's School today. 

Upper Hill are seeking to defend the city title and battle for a place in the 2019 National Term One games set for Mombasa next month.  

They must be at their best to counter Dagoretti, who are thirsting for a slot in the national contest. In semis, Upper Hill thrashed Moi Forces Academy 56-0 while Dagoretti hammered Sunshine 36-0.

In girls' basketball, defending champions Buruburu whipped St Teresa's Girls 53-2 to book a place in next Thursday's quarter-finals.

In boys' contest, former champions Upper Hill remained on course to reclaiming their title following their victories against Rafiki and Jamhuri. They soaked Rafiki in a 91-14 win before sealing their last eight slot with a 62-12 victory over Jamhuri. 

Elsewhere, Maseno School won boys' hockey title in the Kisumu County games at Chemelil Academy yesterday.

Maseno beat 2017 East Africa champions Kisumu Day 2-0 to qualify for Nyanza region games set for March 18-20.

In boys' basketball, Maseno defended their title as they beat arch rivals Kisumu Boys 84-49 while Nyabondo suffered a 0-46 loss at the hands of Maseno in rugby 15s.

In semis, Maseno beat hosts Chemelil Academy 57-0 as Nyabondo edged out Onjiko 8-5.

In girls' hockey, former East Africa School champions Sinyolo defended their title after humbling Kisumu Girls 4-0.

In girls' basketball, Sinyolo lost to Koru 50-51 while defeated Kisumu Boys 21-20 in handball. Ratta Mixed won the girls' handball title.  

Top two teams qualified for next week's Nyanza Regional games.
