Jose Mourinho ended a nightmare week by showing a touch of class at Manchester United's Under-23 game on Friday evening.

The Red Devils boss had been under enormous pressure in the days following the 3-0 defeat to Spurs on Monday, with his long-term future at the club in question.

It's been United's worst start to a league season for 26 years and there are rumours that morale inside the dressing room is at an all-time low.

But Mourinho put those problems aside as he attended United's U23 game against Stoke City at Old Trafford.

And the Portuguese did himself no harm by spending the first 10 minutes of the second half with some of the home fans.

Alex Nield, an avid Man United supporter, posted a picture of Mourinho and himself prior to the clash outside the ground.

The little lad then uploaded another snap of himself and the manager inside Old Trafford, as well as a picture of his freshly signed jersey.

He captioned the pictures with: "Just spent a good bit of time chatting with Jose what a top bloke."

Stoke City's media manager also spotted the brilliant gesture from Mourinho and tweeted: "An absolute touch of class from Jose Mourinho just now.

"He noticed a small handful of young and disabled supporters and went over to chat to them for a good 5 minutes. Made their night, week and quite possibly their year. Yes way, Jose!"

Mourinho would have likely been keeping a close eye on Diogo Dalot. Man United's summer signing played 78 minutes at Old Trafford.

The full-back has only just come back from injury and is yet to make his competitive debut for the Red Devils. Romero also started having returned from a knee problem.

Man United U23s won the clash 1-0 thanks to a sublime Angel Gomes strike.
