Kenya 15’s rugby team will be facing Zimbabwe in game three of the 2017 Africa Gold Cup.

Kenya Simbas assistant coach Dominique Habimana expects a difficult match when the national 15s rugby team lock horns with Zimbabwe in today’s game three of the 2017 Africa Gold Cup, in Harare.

Both teams go into the match on contrasting forms. While Kenya fought hard to beat a resilient Senegal 45-25 in Nairobi last weekend, the fourth placed Zimbabwe threw away a 20-7 halftime lead to lose 31-26 to champions Namibia.

“We have rectified a few areas of concern, we are working towards a faster and more positive game,” said Habimana.

The Jerome Paarwater led technical bench has made a few changes to the squad that left for Harare on Thursday morning.

Simbas, who are currently ranked second with 12 points, three points behind leaders Namibia, have been handed a major boost with Kenya Commercial Bank winger Jacob Ojee declared fit for the Hartsfield Stadium encounter.

Ojee’s club captain Curtis Lilako has been given a starting berth, replacing Dennis Karani who has withdrawn from the travelling party due to academic commitments.

Ojee was substituted in the first half of last weekend’s clash against Senegal but has since recovered sufficiently to return to the team.

Also making a return to the team is youthful forward Bramwel Mayaka, while lanky KCB lock Oliver Mang’eni will link up with the side for next weekend’s clash against Namibia.

Mang’eni missed the last two fixtures against Tunisia and Senegal due to personal and work commitments.
