Sports Kenya and Meru County government will co-operate in completing the construction of Kinoru Sports Centre, officials agreed yesterday.

Speaking as he led an inspection of the stadium, Sports Kenya Deputy Director Gabriel Komora said they were satisfied with the progress made by the county government and said they are ready to work with it and have the work done by November.

"The Confederation of African Football (Caf) is happy with work done. The county government has done a lot of work too. We are remaining with just a few adjustments. We will work on the VIP area and upgrade the pitch," said Komora.

Other remaining works include fixing the seats, installing floodlights and the access control system. County Sports, Gender and Youth Executive Joy Muriungi and her Infrastructure's counterpart, Newton Itobi, said they would partner with Sports Kenya to ensure the project is completed within the time demanded by Caf.

The completion of the stadium had been unclear after Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa said the national government, through Sports Kenya, would complete the remaining works.

The State corporation had advertised for a contractor to do the works.
