Democratic Republic of Congo and Morocco won Tuesday to reach the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals while title-holders Ivory Coast were eliminated.

DR Congo defeated Togo 3-1 in Port-Gentil to top Group C and Morocco beat Ivory Coast 1-0 to finish runners-up and also qualify for the quarter-finals.

Making the last eight was particularly sweet for Morocco coach Herve Renard, who guided Ivory Coast to the title two years ago.

Ivory Coast came third after failing to win any of their three group games, leaving French coach Michel Dussuyer facing the axe.
