Jose Mourinho has penned a heartfelt letter to the widow of a Manchester United fan who died in a tragic accident.

David Green, a 32-year-old father of four, died earlier this month when a dumper truck tipped over at the building site he was working on in Lawford in Essex.

David was an avid supporter and named his eldest sons in honour of the club he loved, Harvey Rio and Trafford.

Mourinho learned of the accident and wrote to David's, widow Jade, report the Colchester Gazette.

“I have been informed, and was deeply saddened to hear, that your husband David recently passed away in tragic circumstances," he wrote.
