Jose Mourinho and Manchester United have been plunged into another pitch shambles less than 24 hours before their flight to Sweden.

United are due to face Turkish side Galatasaray on Saturday evening in the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg as part of their pre-season preparations.

But Mourinho will be furious to discover the playing surface at the 58-year-old arena is in a shocking condition after a Bruce Springsteen concert on the pitch six days ago.

United were forced to cancel their proposed Manchester derby meeting with City in Beijing earlier this week ,with both Mourinho and Etihad boss Pep Guardiola condemning the poor state of the pitch at the Birds Nest Stadium.
