Manchester United have been warned they will miss out on signing Paul Pogba this summer.

United are interested in re-signing Pogba from Juventus for what would be a British record fee of £78million - four years after losing him for just £800,000.

After quitting Barcelona to join Pogba at Juventus, Dani Alves claims United will be disappointed and he expects the French star to remain with the Italian champions.

“I think he is an important element of the team and a really great player,” said Alves.

“I expect to play alongside him, which is going to be a great honour. There are other incredible players in this team as well, who also have a lot to say for themselves.”
