Evertons Lukaku celebrating a goal

Lukaku is the Premier League's second top scorer with 16 goals this campaign but his improved form hasn't just come about by chance

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has revealed the secret behind his success so far this campaign.

The Belgian, who joined the Toffees from Chelsea in July 2014, has scored 20 goals in all competitions for Roberto Martinez's side, including 16 in the Premier League.

Only Leicester's Jamie Vardy with 18 goals to his name has found the net more in the top flight.

Lukaku is just one goal away from equalling the 17 league goals he scored during his loan spell at West Brom during the 2012-13 campaign - the most he has scored in a season since moving to England.

The former Anderlecht striker's attention to detail and self-discipline is key to his form, as he revealed he watches his performances back in full after every single match he plays in.

“There is a company in France which films all my games and makes clips of every action that I made on the pitch and they make clips of every other player as well. Defenders from other teams and strikers throughout Europe,” he told the Telegraph.

Lukaku claims he prepares for matches so thoroughly that Everton's club analysts barely even speak to him - because he already knows what they're about to tell him.

The 22-year-old is undoubtedly one of the hottest strikers in Europe right now and he knows his hard work will only improve him even further.

"When people say: ‘oh he’s unplayable’ I’m saying: ‘OK, I am unplayable that day but I have to try and be unplayable every single game’,” Lukaku added.

"At the moment I know I am really good. I know I am really good. But I want to be better."
