Tuesday was a day of unveiling sponsorships by the country's biggest clubs.

Hours after AFC Leopards unveiled their partnership with betting firm Betway, Gor Mahia announced a similar deal with SportPesa.

And as happened with AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier, who confirmed the deal did not reveal the amount his club expects to be paid.

However, sources who are aware of the deal said the club stands to be paid Sh250million during the five year deal.

There were, however, murmurs from Betway after the announcing of the Gor Mahia deal with officials from the company saying they will challenge it in a court of law as they had a similar deal with the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions.

"We signed a deal with Gor Mahia and it is surprising that they can turn around and sign another deal even before the ink has dried on our deal. We will certainly take appropriate action to protect our reputation," a source from Betway said.

The Gor Mahia chairman said that details of the new deal will be revealed when the official announcement is made.

At the same time, Gor Mahia's new signing Jacques Tuyisenge will wear jersey number nine.

The player, who was the most expensive in the just concluded transfer window was unveiled alongside Edmond Murai, Gradus Ochieng, Jacob Keli, Francis Kahata, Jackson Saleh, Eric Marcelo Ouma, Sammy Okinda, James Ogada and Robert Onyango.

Rachier said they are delighted with the new signings and wished those who have left the best in their new clubs.

"We lost four players but we are with the players we brought on board and we hope to continue where we left in the last season."

"We wish those who left the best and welcome the new acquisitions," he added.
