Jose Mourinho is closing in on the £20million signing of Augsburg defender Rahman Baba.
Chelsea insist the deal for Baba, 21, is not yet completed, despite reports in the German media but Mourinho insists they are trying to strengthen the squad.
Blues boss Mourinho said: “He is Augsburg player so I don’t speak. But we try. We don’t have, we have only one left-back. We are trying.”
Mourinho also refused to discuss Chelsea’s second bid for Everton defender John Stones , but they may now wait for the England Under-21 international to push for a move.
