Manchester United's hopes fade on Sergio Ramos

Manchester United's hopes of signing Sergio Ramos appear to be dwindling by the day.

Spanish paper Marca, which has strong ties with Real Madrid, report that the defender is now much more likely to stay at the Bernabeu than move to Old Trafford.

They report that Ramos's brother and agent met with Florentino Perez and director general Jose Angel Sanchez, and the defender is now set to get a bumper new deal.

Cynics will say this was his plan all along.
