Angel Di Maria could be heading for the Manchester United exit door, with Paris Saint-Germain willing to offer Dutch defender Gregory van der Wiel in exchange for the Argentine.

Reports in French publication L'Equipe say the French champions are set to rekindle their interest in the winger, after a pre-season move being scuppered by Financial Fair Play rules.

Di Maria joined for a Premier League record fee £60million at the start of the season, but has endured a difficult first term in England.

He shares an agent with Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, with United confirming his departure from the club on Sunday.

PSG are aware of United's desire to sign a right-back, having been heavily linked with Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne, and are reportedly willing to let Van der Wiel go in exchange.

However, ="http://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/louis-van-gaal">Louis van Gaal< omitted the defender from his Dutch World Cup squad last year, instead opting for Newcastle's Daryl Janmaat and Lazio's Stefan de Vrij.

Earlier this month, Di Maria admitted he hadn't been at his best since his big-money switch from Real Madrid.

“I’m not happy with my first year in England,” he said. “I moved here from Real to win titles and this season has been very bad for me. I’m frustrated because I want to do better.

“The fans in England have not seen the real Di Maria. I know I can offer a better level. This year was not good enough.”

Di Maria limped off midway through the first half of Sunday's 0-0 draw at Hull, and may have kicked his last ball for the Red Devils.
