Jose Mourinho has insisted even he will be unable to reach the "impossible" top flight bar set by Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Chelsea boss, who clinched his eighth title across four countries on Sunday, believes the legendary Manchester United boss will remain out in front with his 13 Premier League titles.

Mourinho said: "I have a long way to go but Sir Alex left the bar in an impossible position for anyone."

Sir Alex was 51 when he led United to his first title with them in the 1992-3 season.

Mourinho is 52 and has just won his third Premier League crown.

Speaking to BT Sport, he added: "Impossible. I cannot win 13 Premier Leagues.

"I can win 13 championships. I have eight. I think I can go to 13.

"But 13 Premier Leagues? No, no chance."

Meanwhile John Terry insists he will know when it is time to retire - but says he has got more trophies left in him yet.

Terry, 34, has rolled back the clock this season with a string of vintage performances to help win the 16th trophy of his glittering Chelsea career.
