Mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain are ready to offer Manchester United their money back on Angel Di Maria.

The French giants have stepped up their pursuit of Argentina star Di Maria - and have made it clear they will offer big money.

Di Maria, 27, has struggled to settle since his £59.7m record breaking move from Real Madrid last summer.

PSG wanted him last year and are willing to break the bank again to offer Di Maria an escape route from Old Trafford.

Di Maria’s home was raided and his performances have been inconsistent this term which has alerted PSG about renewing their interest.

United feared they would struggle to get their money back - but agents working for the French club are working hard to make the deal happen.

PSG would also almost certainly be able to offer Champions League football while United are still sweating on their place in the top four.

United boss Louis Van Gaal has already admitted he won’t stand in Di Maria’s way if he wants to go and may need cash to rebuild the squad.

Van Gaal is chasing strikers with Radamel Falcao set to return to Monaco after his disastrous and costly loan spell.

Robin van Persie has yet to be offered a new deal while Juan Mata is also wanted by Valencia.

United will also spend big on their defence while French midfielder Paul Pogba is on their hit list even if Manchester City may also move for him.

That means cashing in on Di Maria could be an attractive option with PSG keen to pounce.
