Arsene Wenger is planning a major summer clear-out at Arsenal – regardless of whether the club qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Reports  are claiming that the Gunner boss is set to axe Abou Diaby, Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Per Mertesacker could all be on the way out.

Arsenal are currently in third place in the Premier League but Wenger admitted the club were still ‘nowhere near’ challenging for the title.

And it seems he will make major changes at the end of the season in an attempt to close the gap on Manchester City and Chelsea.

Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin remains a transfer target and Arsenal are expected to make their move once they have moved on at least one of their unwanted midfielders.
