Arsenal confirm Gabriel injury blow

Just days after earning a place in Arsenal’s first XI, January signing Gabriel Paulista has been ruled out for three weeks with a hamstring injury.

Gabriel joined the club in a £13.5 million move from Villarreal and edged Per Mertesacker out of the starting XI for last weekend’s win over Everton.

In midweek, it was Laurent Koscielny who made way as the Brazilian kept his place for the 2-1 win over QPR.

But Gabriel pulled up in the first half at Loftus Road and has now been ruled out for a number of weeks.
