Sofapaka have bowed out of this year’s Confederations Cup match after going down 2-1 to FC Platinum of Zimbabwe.

This means the Kenya team, which lost by a similar margin in the first leg, go out on a 2-4 goal aggregate. Goals by Wisdom Mtasa were handed Sofapaka their second consecutive loss to the Zimbabweans.

Burundian Fiston Rizak had scored the opener for Sofapaka.

Meanwhile, Bidco and West Sugar yesterday got off to a positive note in their Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League matches after registering home wins.

Bidco blanked St Joseph 3-0, while West Sugar edged out visiting Kariobangi Sharks in the second match of the competition.

In Kakamega, West Sugar were quick off the blocks, as they took a sixth minute lead through Johnson Indimuli. This goal gave the home team plenty of inspiration as they kept up the search for a second. For their opponents, it was a shocking goal and they struggled to get back into the match.

But Sharks soon got their composure and were rewarded by a 25th minute goal through Rodgers Omondi as both teams tied 1-1 at the breather.

West Sugar, however, broke the deadlock in the 67th minute and they will have to thank Peter Kihungi as he scored into his own net to hand them all three points at home.
At Thika Stadium, Bidco were just too superior as they gave St Joseph a 3-0 humiliation. A 19th minute goal from Hussein Puzzo opened the scores, with Patrick Senfuka adding a second in the 57th minute before Simon Wagema’s third in the 83rd minute.

Meanwhile, there will be four matches today. Modern Rangers will play Ligi Ndogo in a match which was moved to City Stadiu.

The fixture was earlier scheduled for Mombasa, but was postponed due to the absence of the match venue.
Other fixtures on the card today are Zoo Kericho versus Oserian at Kericho Green Stadium, Agro Chemicals against Nairobi Stima at Moi Stadium in Kisumu and Talanta will play Finlays at Kasarani Stadium.
