Kenya has trimmed its squad from 20 to 14 ahead of the Amputee Football World Cup in Culican, Mexico, on November 30- December 10.

In the squad are Turkey-based midfielder Daniel Safari and striker Dalmas Otieno who will link up with the team in Mexico.

Defenders are Zacheus Kombo, Samuel Kimani, captain Ibrahim Wafula, Fred Ochieng' and Samson Njoroge.

Polycarp Mboya, Peter Nzioka, Francis Nganga, Joash Barite and Dedan Ireri will marshal the midfield. In the striking force are Nicholas Keiyo and Joseph Karanja.

Willis Ochieng', who has been appointed the head, will be deputised by former Harambee Stars forward Maurice Shikanda.

"We will to depart to Mexico on November 26, 2014. Currently, we are training at our base in Pangani. We urge the government and well wishers to come on board and support us," said Kenya Amputee Federation Vice President Bernard Ong'ondo.

The federation started with 72 players who were trimmed down to 20 after a three months rigorous selection process, before coming up with the 14-man final squad at the weekend.

On the calling up of foreign based players head coach Ochieng said: "They are the pillars of the team. Their skills and experience will be vital for our win. They will also share with other players on some of the vital lessons they have learned abroad on their professional stints."

Kenya will be among the 24 nations from across the world that will be fighting for the Amputee World Cup Trophy that is currently held by Uzbekistan.

This will be Kenya's first appearance in the World Cup after missing the last edition in Russia due to lack of funds.
