Fifa elite A referee Damaris Kimani and assistant Mary Njoroge left the country yesterday for Namibia to officiate at the TN Mobile 9th African Women Championship on October 11-25. Kimani will be the first woman referee from Kenya to officiate at the continental championship while Njoroge will be making her second appearance in the competition as an assistant referee after attending the eighth edition in Equatorial Guinea two years ago. East Africa will not be represented in the championship after She Amavubi of Rwanda succumbed to Nigeria in the second round of the competition. The matches will be played at Sam Nujoma and Independence stadiums in Windhoek.
