After last weekend's win, handicap 2 Vishal Somaia leads Tusker Malt in the chase for Soldier’s Salute Championships crown at Nairobi Polo Club on Saturday.

Somaia, who were in the Radio Africa team that lifted the Maria Bencivenga Trophy alongside Rowena Stichbury (0), Ed Burbidge (0) and Magda Jurkowiecka (-0.5), longs to stage the same feat with the Tusker Malt side.

He has maintained the same squad saves for Burbidge who has been replaced by handicap 0.5 tournament sponsor Jamie Hayward who joins the Tusker Malt team.

Hayward welcomed the experienced players to the two-day tournament.

“We are out to ensure youngsters benefit from the experience of old guards,” Hayward said.

Tusker Malt takes on Ultimate in their first match at 2.30pm.

The opening match pits Tanqueray against Jacaranda at 1pm in the Subsidiary Championships to open doors for the match pitting Ultimate against Samurai at 2pm. Samurai team captain Raphael Nzomo (2.5) is keen to avoid mistakes.
