Shocking court testimonies reveal Monica's last moments

The late Monica Nyawira Kimani was found dead at her house in Kilimani.

On September 19, 2018, at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a plane landed from Juba at 5.45 pm carrying among others, Monica Nyawira Kimani.

Her house, according to court records was at Lamuria Gardens Apartment which is located on Kitale Lane, off Denis Pritt Road in Kilimani.

Oketch Otieno John, a taxi operator told the court he picked and dropped her at the apartment.

Along the way, Monica called a boda boda rider and handed him an envelope.

According to the witness, the deceased was visited by four people; the first person being a man, Dominic Bisera Harun, who was dressed in a white kanzu and a grey jacket.

At 9.15 pm a second visitor, Mr Lee Owen got to the house and found her with Waridi, a neighbour and ‘Joe’ a security officer with Interpol and the office of the president.

In the meantime, Anthony Kariuki Kaka testified that he visited Monicah but did not enter the house as the deceased informed him that she had guests including one from State House.

The first person who left the house was Owen. He said that he left Monicah with the visitor called Joe.

The guard however said the last person who left the house was Dominic and no one else.

The following day, she was to leave to Dubai but her family could not reach her.

Her brother testified that when they arrived, the house was locked, hence, they sought assistance from the caretaker.

The gardener then got a ladder and managed to access the house only to find a television was on and water was running in the bathroom.

He found Monicah in a bath tab dead and her mobile phone was next to her.

Police officer Jennifer Sirwa was the first to arrive at the scene. She took 50 photos; including a yellow bag that was hanging on the door.

CCTV footage revealed several people were seen coming in. Waridi and Owen however informed the family that they were in the house and with a person called Joe.

Her brother then showed them a photo and they affirmed that it was the person who was in the house. He also testified that Joe was his classmate at Kenya Polytechnic.

On the other hand, Jowie reported to the police that he had been shot.

He ended up at Kijabe Hospital, close to 50 kilometers from the house in Lang'ata.
