The TikTok community and fans are mourning the loss of Brian Chira, whose funeral arrangements have become a topic of conversation on social media.

During a live stream on TikTok, using Baba Talisha's account, it was revealed that Chira had sought forgiveness from his grandfather before his untimely death.

Chira, who is named after his grandfather, was reportedly turned away when he traveled to Kiambu County to reconcile.

"Two weeks ago, he traveled to ask his father for forgiveness, but he refused," MC Chris shared on the live stream.

Despite his grandmother's efforts to intervene and ask for forgiveness on Chira's behalf, the family remained distant from the burial arrangements.

"Chira was supposed to be buried where the mother was buried, but the grandfather distanced themselves from the burial," he added.

Baba Talisha, a close friend of Chira's, has been mobilizing support to ensure a dignified farewell for the TikToker.

He announced that Chira would be buried on March 26 in Githunguri, Kiambu County, and called on Kenyans to assist the family during this time.

In a touching tribute to Chira's academic achievements, Baba Talisha mentioned that Chira would be buried in a graduation gown, a special request from his grandmother.

"Brian was a very bright student. He got an A-. That was a special request," said Baba Talisha.

The funeral service will take place at his grandmother's home in Githunguri, with the body available for viewing at the Kenyatta University mortuary. This arrangement is in line with the family's tradition, which does not permit viewing at the home.

Chira's life was tragically cut short by a hit-and-run accident on March 16, 2024, along the Ndenderu-Ruaka road in the Gacharage area.

The incident occurred as he was returning home from a night out. After being ejected from a local joint for causing a disturbance, Chira and a friend, Zeleck Momanyi, took a motorcycle ride home.

Chira was hit by a canter after alighting from the motorcycle and attempting to cross the road.

His initial transfer was to City Mortuary, but his body has since been moved to the Kenyatta University funeral home.
