Nairobi Region was the dominant force in lawn tennis during this year's secondary schools national Term Two B games.

The region won both boy' and girls' titles. Junior tennis ace Albert Njogu of Shadrack Kimalel School led as a true soldier as the region won the top three spots and doubles title on the final day of the games in Nyeri at the weekend.

Njogu won gold, Leslie Imende silver and Petty Andanda completed the podium finish with a bronze medal. The duo of Samuel Humphrey and Frank Otieno won gold in the doubles to crown a successful outing for Shadrack Kimalel School.

In the girls' contest, Faith Nyabera of Olympic Mixed won gold, while Central Region's Rosemary Wambui took silver. Venessa Egessa of Loreto Convent Valley Road took bronze, while her schoolmates Esther Wahome and Fatiya Sharrif won the girls' doubles title.

Western Region's badminton powerhouse Kivaywa called the shots as they snatched the top two spots in the boys' category. Evin Wandera won gold, while Sai Levine took silver. Nairobi's Darshan Shah took bronze, with Nyanza siblings Tebrez Kara and Aftan Kara winning gold in the doubles category.

Kivaywa coach George Opunga said they have worked hard throughout the year and will now focus on defeating the Ugandans during the East Africa games.

"We want to shine at the East Africa games and have been working hard because we want to win gold. We took silver last year but we are not ready to settle for the second best this year," Opunga said.

Nairobi's Theertha Vanemareddy won gold and Mishali Patel bronze while Khushi Tygi of Coast finished second in the girls' contest. Rift Valley's Zamzam Bora and Farzana Hassanali emerged tops in the doubles.

Rift Valley were unrivalled in table tennis as they swept the podium in both boys' and girls' categories?. Zablon Ekisa, Allan Singar and Charles Kagunda starred in the boys' category.                                                           [Elizabeth Mburugu]
