Many women use cosmetic products and most times, these products tend to accumulate as they are rarely thrown away. It is advisable to dispose off of makeup inasmuch as you love the product dearly.
Lipstick: When that favorite lipstick starts exhibiting a foul scent, kindly throw it out. Ideally, lipstick should be disposed off after at least 1-2 years.
Eye shadow: Eye shadow products come in liquid and powder form with the powder form having a longer lifespan. Liquid eye shadow should be thrown out after a year and powder after two years.
Eye pencil: These can be stored for up to 2-3 years. Sharpening before each application as well as covering the tip ensures it’s clean for each application.
Mascara: This product has the shortest life span when compared to the other makeup products. Three months is maximum for mascara. If it dries up before, then throw it out and resist the temptation to mix it up with water.
Foundation, concealers and powder: These can last up to two years before hitting their expiry time.
Brushes and sponges: These should be washed regularly. Sponges are best washed weekly and changed after a month while makeup brushes washed monthly.
It is advisable not to store makeup for long, they may smell and cause infections on the face and eyes..
