A middle-aged butcher in Umoja estate nearly killed a young man who teased him over his feminine voice.
The man had called the butcher who has a high-pitched sound from the butchery’s kitchen.
When he responded, the buyer asked the businessman whether it was a man or a woman speaking and this infuriated the butcher.
“When the youthful man arrived, the butcher was busy in the kitchen while his son had gone out so he tapped the counter. Instead of placing his order, he asked whether it was a man or a woman who had responded from the kitchen,” a witness said.
The butcher was furious. He grabbed a knife and threw it towards the man’s throat. It missed him but grazed against his neck.
The commotion attracted other customers at the butchery who ran to try to stop him.
His son was on time to restrain him from stabbing the customer.
“It is uncouth to tease or joke with somebody’s condition,” one said.
His customers are used to his voice but new ones find it
