Prime Minister Raila Odinga now says all members of parliament should pay taxes on their salaries and allowances. The prime minister spoke as Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka pointed out that members of parliament are not opposed to paying taxes, but would want consultation between the Kenya revenue authority and the parliamentary service commission.  The views by the two politicians illustrate a steady shift in position by legislators, most of who have objected to taxation of their allowances despite  constitutional provisions.
