Hundreds of ‘Yes’ supporters have thronged Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) where President Kibaki and Premier Odinga are expected to address the nation after the historic passage of a new constitution in the referendum.With ‘Yes’ camp garnering more than 67 percent of the vote, the vuvuzela blowing crowds are singing and dancing while patiently waiting for the President and PM as other government officials and leaders continue streaming into the venue. The master of ceremonies has just announced that the president will address the nation once IIEC announces final results of the referendum. Religious leaders from Christian and Muslim faiths are in attendance led by Anglican Archbishop Eliud Wabukala, who remained the voice of conscience even as other churches urged people to vote ‘No’. Also present are members of the Committee of Experts on Constitutional Review led by their Chairman Nzamba Kitonga.Earlier in the day, the ‘No’ team led by Higher Education minister William ruto conceded defeat saying Kenyans had decided.
