KTN journalist Mary Kilobi has shared photos of her exclusive graduation party after earning a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Nairobi on December 20.
Flanked by her husband Central organization of Trade Unions (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli, Kilobi dazzled in a gown and mortarboad in an event attended by hundreds at their posh Kajiado residence.
In an interview with the Nairobian a year ago, the Kiswahili TV anchor opened up on her blossoming marriage to the veteran trade unionist.
Kilobi narrated that her first encounter with Atwoli was in 2005, when she was pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature and Kiswahili at Makerere University and interning at Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), Kampala.
“Someone in the newsroom alerted me that a Kenyan was working there. Naturally, I got interested in meeting that person,” said Atwoli.

Six years later, he swept her off her feet.
“I love Atwoli, he is a caring man who is always there for me. Given another chance, I will still fall in love with him... He proposed to me but I said no. But he insisted, saying that he was serious and would wait for even 1,000 years for me to say ‘yes’ and marry him,” she added.
