Trizah Njeri, the widow of the late Samuel Wanjiru, has denied claims she was married to former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga.
“Maina Njenga was a close friend of my late husband. I want to make it clear that we never dated. All I know is that he was our neighbour in Ngong,” she said.
In fact, Maina’s wife who died sometime in 2014 was my tenant in Ngong. So it hurt me and my family to people telling lies about me.
Wanjiru’s wife claimed many people from Nyahururu thought she was with Maina Njenga when his car was attacked along Nakuru Naivasha road in 2014.
Njeri who still maintains she wants the truth about what killed her husband to come out, said many people went to the mortuary to confirm if she was not the woman shot and killed on they day the former Mungiki leader was attacked.
“I have never remarried after my husband died. A lot of lies have been said about me. My child who is nine years-old is old enough to hear some of these things, and they are.
Asked if she knew what killed her husband, Njeri said, “We want to know the truth, although I know his death was an accident. The psychologist said Kamau was killed, we however cannot say anything yet because most witnesses, myself included, have not talked.
Trizah told The Nairobian she misses her husband a lot especially because he was the breadwinner.
“Our lives have changed a lot since his death. I have never received a dime from Kamau’s manager. Most of the things are still in the bank, and I have no access to them. I only depend on the rent I collect from one house my husband left behind,” she told The Nairobian.
The mother of three says Valentine’s Day only rekindles sad memories in her.
“I have never celebrated Valentine’s Day ever since I lost my husband this valentine I hope to take my children out on that day, just to have some fun,” she told The Nairobian.
Wanjiru died in mysterious circumstances at his Nyahururu home on 15th of May 2012 leaving his wife Triza Njeri with two children, Ann Wanjiru and Simon njoroge.
‘’I really miss Kamau, I don’t have any major valentines plans but I will probably take my kids out somewhere and get to feel their love, I still remember the last last Valentine’s day we spent together at Carnivore’’, said Triza
But even as the Valentine’s Day takes center stage, circumstances still surrounding Wanjiru’s death.
