Why Senator wants Raila to name his own cabinet

Vihiga Senator George Khaniri wants National Super Alliance (NASA) Coalition leader Raila Odinga to name his Cabinet.

This follows the release of some names to the position of Cabinet secretary in the Jubilee Party government by President Uhuru Kenyatta last week, which Mr Khaniri said NASA would not recognise.

He noted NASA was running out of time for things that should have already been accomplished.

“Name your Cabinet now because Kenyans do not recognise Uhuru’s Cabinet. We want a Cabinet that we can associate with because you are the people's president,” Khaniri said during a meeting in the county, adding that the region voted overwhelmingly for NASA last year.
