Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, 63 years, is a known Kenyan politician who was a Vice President from 2008 to 2013. He had degrees from University of Nairobi (Law School) and Mediterranean Institute of Management in Cyprus Diploma in Business. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Divinity and a Doctorate in Humane Letters in recognition of his achievements in peace making, conflict resolution efforts, sustainable community development and humanistic ideals by Kenyatta University.
From 1993 to 1998 under President Daniel Arap Moi’s government, Kalonzo served as the Minister for foreign affairs. He also served a Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2004 during Mwai Kibaki’s government, then Minister of the Environment from 2004 to 2005.
In the year 2002, under the leadership of KANU secretary general, Raila Odinga, Kalonzo was decamped from KANU to join the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) as one of the founders of National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) which won the 2003 general elections. He later left the LPD to Labor Party of Kenya.
During the 2005 refurendum on the proposed new constitution, Kalonzo was part of the leader who succeeded in the “NO”-campaign which followed his dismissal from the cabinet.
In 2007 under ODM-Kenya party, he was a presidential candidate where he lost but was later appointed by Mwai Kibaki as the Vice President in 2008. He later changed ODM-Kenya to Wiper Democratic Movement.

In 2013, Kalonzo Musyoka joined his longtime political opponent Raila Odinga to form the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy Coalition (CORD) with Musyoka being the presidential running mate to Raila.
Kalonzo Musyoka is the current Raila Odinga’s presidential running mate in the National Super Alliance ahead of the 2017 general election in Kenya.
