Man denied wife sex, court told

The High Court was forced to separate two love-birds in April this year after it emerged that the man was incapable of consummating the marriage.

The woman told the court she had never seen the man's house despite being married for five years.

She further claimed the man deserted her immediately after they got married and he completely refused to allow her to move in with him.

"From the petitioner's claims, it is evident the marriage celebrated between the parties was still-born since there was no cohabitation. It is not denied that in the five years the couple has been, there was no consummation of the union and no cohabitation," Justice Lydia Achode noted.

The judge was told the man, who did not enter a response to the allegation, was also on drugs and had been threatening to embarrass the woman before her family.

The woman added that she had tried to intervene through family members but all her attempts had failed.
