Kakamega court has released Senator Cleophas Malala on a bond of Sh500,000 or a surety of a similar amount.
The Senator has been charged with three counts of felony, assault, causing injury to an IEBC officer, robbery with violence and destroying property at Munami Primary School polling station during Matungu by-election.
On a different set of charges, Malala and four other suspects were released on Sh2 million bond each for robbery with violence, assault and property destruction including vehicles and causing injury to two ODM campaign officials.
He was captured on video at a polling station confronting ODM leaders including Homabay Woman representative Gladys Wanga at Bulimbo Primary School tallying centre.
Malala’s bodyguard was charged with using his firearm to injure a member of the public and released on a bond worth Sh200,000.

The case heard at the Kakamega Law Courts by Magistrate Dophina Alego.
The total bond for Malala is 2.5 million and his accomplices’ is Sh12,200,000.
