Last season's runners up KCB will be eyeing the top spot in the FKF Premier League when they renew their rivalry with Nairobi City Stars on Friday at Nyayo Stadium.

A win for the bankers will propel them to the summit of the log temporarily above record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia who play on Saturday.

KCB are currently second in the log with 18 points same as Kakamega Homeboyz and Gor Mahia.

However, the bankers will have to dig deep as City Stars commonly referred to as 'Simba wa Nairobi' are currently in a form that has seen them in the top four for the past two weeks.

City Stars, who were promoted the top tier league last season, are fourth with 17 points, one point behind the three-joint leaders after winning five of their opening nine matches.

Meanwhile, Sofapaka have a tricky tie against Posta Rangers at Wundanyi Stadium.

A point separates the 2009 champions and the mail men heading into match day 10. Sofapaka are eighth with 14 points while Posta are a point and a slot adrift.

Elsewhere, Kariobangi Sharks will look to bounce back from their 3-1 thumping by Nzoia Sugar at Sudi Stadium last Saturday when they face Bandari at Mbaraki Stadium.

Sharks also lost 3-1 to Kenya Police, two identical loses that have seen them drop out of the title chasing race.

Bandari on the other side are yet to win any of their last three matches.

Whereas Kariobangi Sharks are fifth with 16, Bandari are sixth with 15.
