Zetech University's Fuad Nyondo secured the top award in the national Karate Under-21 Championships.
He defeated Paul Kimani of St John's and Aloise Amoko from Dagoretti High in the games that were sponsored by Kenya Karate Federation.
Nairobi's Kaloleni Social Hall was full of activity as a host of promising youngsters muscled each other in the martial arts tournament.
Nyondo, who is in the national team that will compete in the Under-21 African Karate Championships in Durban, South Africa, emerged victorious.
The South African tourney will be held on August 30. Nyondo attributed his win to the persistent training and tireless efforts by the Zetech University taekwondo team and Karate coach Martin Ndegwa.
