Kakamega County senatorial seat hopeful Cleophas Malala has today condemned yesterday’s predicament that saw him among other politicians attacked by unruly youth in Mumias West constituency.

Mr Malala, MCA aspirant Charles Odanga among other politicians were yesterday forced to cut short their campaign activities after some youths whom Malala alleges were hired by Mumias West parliamentary seat contender.

He has accused Jubilee party activist Rashid Mohammed for having confronted them leading to chaos that resulted to massive injuries.

Mr. Charles Odanga was reported to have been injured and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

A number of vehicles were stoned leading the team to flee for safety.

Malala narrowly escaped the quagmire and has now linked the incidence with Mumias West parliamentary aspirant Rashid Mohamed whom he believes had a mission to totally disrupt the NASA wave within the constituency.

He said that NASA team will not be cowed by selfish politicians in the area but instead champion for change.

“I lack definite words to condemn this ugly act. It is prehistoric, primitive, barbaric and archaic to apply such cowardly political tactic in this era. I wish Hon Charles Odanga a speedy recovery.” Malala wrote on his social media page.

The details of the incident yesterday went viral mostly on social media platforms like Twitter and on Whatsapp.

Hashtag #CleophasMalala was among trending topics. MrRashid Mohammed could not be reached for a comment.

Malala who is eyeing the Kakamega senatorial seat is expected to battle it out with Jubilee’s Stanely Livondo, Unionist Seth Panyako, Political pundit Martin Andati, Ford Kenya’s Sammy Aina.
