Migori, Kenya: Fear engulfed Kopala Village in Sori, Migori County after a man hacked his wife to death.
Nyatike police boss Dishon Chebaka said a neighbour reported that Pauline Acheng', 35, was hacked to death by her husband Bernard Ooko. The neighbour also reported that the couple had been conflicting for a while.
"We rushed to the scene only to find the woman had died and the body already taken to Chodho mortuary in Nyatike. The suspect was, however missing,” said Mr Chebaka.
He added, "We have also established that the suspect took the body of deceased to the mortuary himself. The body had several bruises and cuts... we have, however, launched a search for him."
A neighbor, who talked to The Standard said the couple had experienced challenges where each accused the other of infidelity.

“The deceased had left her matrimonial home for a few months after a family misunderstanding and the husband had been looking for her. When she finally came back, the man locked her inside the house and started beating her,” said the source.
The source went on, "We did not intervene because they have been having quarrels in the past. We did not anticipate death to come out of their misunderstanding, which to us seemed normal. We were shocked when the house gained silence all of a sudden."
The source said they raised alarm when they could not trace the woman.
