Eugene Wamalwa was Thursday sworn in as the Cabinet Secretary for Water and Irrigation.
President Uhuru Kenyatta witnessed the ceremony conducted by the Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua at State House, Nairobi.
Wamalwa’s nomination as a Cabinet Secretary for the newly created ministry was approved by Parliament in June.
Mr Wamalwa, who is a lawyer by profession, has previously served in the Cabinet as the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs under former President Mwai Kibaki.
He has also served in Parliament as the Member of Parliament for Saboti.
The new Cabinet Secretary came to State House accompanied by a large delegation of prominent leaders including MPs, Governors and former Ministers.
