A marketer and creative, working from the Coast, Waithera's motivation and productivity are higher, which has resulted in the accolades that her company has won under leadership for three years consecutively.

"I'm not sure if it's the weather or air in Malindi, but I know I achieve so much working from here," she said.

Lamu sofa with cosy and colourful cushions tempts one to sit and lounge; after all, one is in the coast.

The wooden ceiling beams against the white walls unleashed an authentic feel, and the makuti roof keeps the villa cool during hot weather.

Her bed is covered in bedsheets, with no duvets in site and luxurious white and brown pillows, making for a comfy wrap on hot days and nights.

Colourful Ankara bedside lamps create an epic fusion of furniture and the bedroom look. The wardrobe design and doors are made meticulously.

When asked what people don't know about her, she laughed and responded, "I'm an introvert. I love reading books. Being visible does not equate you to being an extrovert."
