Kisumu Lady Bucks is staring at relegation from the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) women's Premier League after registering their 10th defeat of the 2022 season last Sunday.

The Lake Victoria-based club are currently lingering in the drop zone after losing their two away matches in Nairobi.

Lady Bucks who have won only one match of the 11 players started their second leg on the wrong foot after being hammered 63-26 by Strathmore University Swords last Saturday.

Margret Nerea, Edna Kola and Kogei Faith scored a combined 41 points for the university side while Juliet Omollo dropped 10 points for Lady Bucks in the defeat.

The results for the visitors went from bad to worse on Sunday when former champions Equity Bank Hawks demolished them 96-37 in a match staged at Nyayo Stadium Gymnasium.

Kenyan international Melissa Akinyi scored the game-high 20 points with the quartet of Joyce Adongo, Maryann Nyagaki, Ndegwa Hilda, and Annerose Mandela scoring a combined 59 points for the bankers.

Juliet Omollo and Janet Adhiambo had 15 points and nine points respectively for the losers.

The two defeats leave Lady Bucks second from bottom with 11 points having played two more games than bottom-placed Kenyatta University Oryx.

On the other hand, Swords moved to fifth in the standings with 15 points after 10 matches played while Equity moved seventh with 14 points after eight matches.

Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Panthers on the other hand defeated the University of Nairobi Dynamites 66-64 to move joint fifth on 15 points.

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) women still top the log on 20 points from their 10 wins in a row followed by Storms and Zetech University Sparks
