This weekend how about a super cooling tropical smoothie, this recipe is always a hit and only calls for a few ingredients that are readily available like mangos, bananas, milk and orange. You can use buttermilk or even plain yoghurt as well, depends on what you like. In our case we will use long life milk which does not curdle when combined with citric fruits like oranges.

What you will need

1 ripe mango 3 ripe bananas 1 orange 500ml ice cold milk 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)

Cut the mango into rough cubes, chop the bananas in chunks, halve the orange. In a blender go in with the bananas, mangoes, squeeze the orange add in the ice cold milk, go in with a tablespoon of sugar if you wish for that extra sweetness, give it a good blend about 2-3 minutes resting every 30 seconds, it’s always advisable to rest the blender every 30secs to 1 minute intervals for it to last long in the kitchen at home.

Once smoothly blended pour your smoothie in a glass garnish with a slice of orange and enjoy your cold smoothie. This smoothie is better served cold and straight from the blender to the glass.
